Privacy Policy

Overview

SoberPath is designed to provide private, non-clinical recovery support. In the current release, recovery information is stored and processed on your device. SoberPath does not use advertising trackers or analytics SDKs and does not sell your personal information.

Information you create

Depending on the features you use, SoberPath may store on your device your Recovery Plan and start date; check-ins about mood and craving; alcohol-use records, reflections, and personal notes; Companion conversations and memories you choose to save; reminder, privacy, accessibility, and app preferences; and membership access state provided through Apple. Optional entries can be skipped.

How information is processed

The current release stores and processes recovery information locally on your device. Companion responses use Apple Foundation Models on supported devices. SoberPath does not send Companion conversations or recovery records to the developer’s servers.

Private Cloud Compute and SoberPath private iCloud sync are not active in this release. Before either service is enabled, this policy and App Store privacy disclosures must be updated, and the app will explain the changed processing where required.

Location

If you ask SoberPath to identify emergency options for your current country, the app may request foreground location access for that one action. SoberPath does not save your coordinates or location history. You can decline and select a country manually. Apple’s handling of location and system services is governed by Apple’s terms and privacy policy.

Purchases

Membership purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. SoberPath does not receive or store payment-card details. Apple may provide subscription status and product information needed to unlock access.

Sharing, advertising, and tracking

The current release does not sell personal information, share recovery information with advertisers or data brokers, track you across apps or websites, contain third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs, or operate a developer server that receives recovery records. If you export information, you control the destination through the system share interface, and that destination applies its own privacy practices.

Retention, export, and deletion

Information remains on your device until you delete it in SoberPath, erase the app’s data, or remove the app. You can export supported records and delete SoberPath data from the app even when membership features are read-only. Device backups and restoration are controlled by your device and Apple account settings; the exact backup disclosure remains subject to review for the final configuration.

Security

SoberPath uses platform protections supplied by Apple and minimizes off-device processing. No storage method is completely secure, so you should also protect access to your device and Apple account.

Your choices and rights

You can choose whether to add optional information, deny or revoke location permission in system Settings, export supported records, and delete local data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights. Because the current version does not maintain a developer account or server-side recovery profile, on-device controls may be the only way to access information that the provider cannot identify or retrieve.

Children, regional rights, and contact

Minimum age, parental or regional requirements, provider identity and address, privacy contact, applicable representatives or regulators, complaint process, governing law, and territory-specific disclosures remain release blockers and will be added only after owner and counsel approval.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change when SoberPath’s features or legal obligations change. A final effective date will be added before publication. A material change to recovery-information processing will be explained before the changed processing begins where required.
